Jim O'Connor

I came to know the Lord at seven years old. My brother and I heard about sin and the Savior in children's church and responded at the same moment. I knew I was a sinner and I needed a savior. Mrs. Bush taught me about God's love and gift of eternal life in Sunday school; she will always hold a special place in my heart.

Throughout my teen years, I received instruction and was encouraged to grow in my faith and relationship with Jesus Christ. During that time, some in my youth group walked away from the Lord. My heart ached for them and I had a hard time understanding. I felt like Peter when he said, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life." Yet, as I became a young adult, I wandered away from the Lord and fellowship. In His grace, the Lord used my friends to draw me back into fellowship and my relationship with the Lord.

One of those friends was Ronda, who is now my wife. We began serving in Children's Ministry together and even now, the Lord has continued to call us to reach out to children. I feel incredibly blessed to have a family that shares a desire to serve the body of Christ.
